About Me

Hello! My name is Lily. I always had a fear of insects since a young age. Until one day, I decided to conquer my fear and raise bugs as exposure therapy. I started off with butterflies, and moved towards moths and spiders. In doing so, I have developed an appreciation and love for these little creatures. I now have created a business centered around something I was scared of in the past. My art not only represents overcoming struggles, but showcases the beauty of insects!

All specimens are raised in house or by sustainable bug farmers. All specimens I order have died from natural causes, and were raised by ethical circumstances. I look for farmers that breed bugs, not just for captivity, but with some livestock being released into the wild to benefit the ecosystem.

Most specimens I use in my work have been taxidermied to prevent mites and decay. Certain specimens with smaller abdomens, such as dragonflies, don't need to be taxidermied.

Each frame is purchased second hand in thrift stores, antique stores, or ebay. Not every frame is authentically vintage, but I typically look for frames that have been made in Europe.

Most of the flowers I use in my works I purchase from small florists local to me, or I forage them. I dry each flower myself by tying them upside down for 1-2 weeks.
